NIH-funded postdoctoral position(s) in computational electrophysiology (posted on August 2024)
Job Description. The Morotti Lab at the Department of Pharmacology at UC Davis is recruiting highly motivated, creative, and collaborative individuals to perform research on a NIH-funded research project aimed at investigating the condition of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). The postdoctoral scholars will develop and use biophysically-detailed multi-scale models of ventricular cardiomyocyte in HFpEF to identify the molecular mechanisms of disease and optimal pharmacological strategies. A unique aspect of these roles will be to become key members in the Lab for coordinating with experimental collaborators both within and outside UC Davis.
Job Requirements. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in bioengineering, applied math, physics, biophysics, or closely related fields by the start date and lead-author publication(s) in computational biology. Candidates must also have strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Prior experience in cardiac modeling and Matlab/C++/Python programming is preferred. Some experience with machine learning analysis and/or experimental cellular electrophysiology is considered a plus.
Job Information. For questions about the position and/or to apply, please send a CV, cover letter, and contact information for three references to smorotti at ucdavis dot edu. The positions will remain open until filled. Salary depends on experience, in accordance with NIH Guidelines (and is negotiable, starting at least at NIH minimum).
